A CNC Programmer / Operator is required for a contract position working for an aerospace organisation.  The role is an initial 3 month contract that requires a candidate with a background of programming and operating CNC machines ideally within a defence / aerospace environment.
 
As the successful CNC Programmer, the candidate will require the following experience:
 
Programming & operating 3, 4, 5 axis vertical and universal milling machines
Heidenhain 426 controls
High tolerances
 
The position may also require some offline programming using Delcam Powershape and Powermill so any experience in this area will be beneficial.

The Role:
 
The role involves turning, setting and operating conventional and CNC lathes and CNC turning equipment to produce various close tolerance components that conform to drawing from bar and castings. The role shall include verification of own work to produce data to evidence process control.
 
Other duties will include fettling and deburring of your own work together with maintaining equipment through monitoring and replenishing of oils and coolants.

Main Purpose of Position: A skilled machinist who has the experience and capability to work unsupervised in their area. Skills, Qualifications & Attributes:. • Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of: Work-holding methods Tool selection criteria Cutting tool parameters Manual machining techniques Setting and operating a range of CNC machine tools Shop floor computer systems Quality principles. Inspection techniques. Main objective: • An essential requirement is to interpret and read technical data/drawings. • Demonstrate confidence in setting, operating and programming CNC machines. • Participate in the involvement of the machining of high precision components in the relevant Motorsport / Aerospace industries. Key responsibilities, skills and experience: • Demonstrate proven experience on working on 4/5 axis CNC milling machines. • Essential to have milling experience with Fanuc controls. • It is necessary have Aerospace or Motorsport experience within a high precision manufacturing/production environment. Working conditions: • You will be working on a double day shift. The hours 06:00 - 14:00 Monday - Friday one week and then 14:00 - 22:00 Monday - Friday the week after. • Competitive salary plus shift allowance.
