Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a team of Contract CNC Setters / Operators / Programmers to join their team in Northampton. These positions are permanent and offer an excellent opportunity for the right candidates. Main Purpose of Position: A skilled machinist who has the experience and capability to work unsupervised in their area. Specific Responsibilities: • To set and operate machines in a safe manner with regard to themselves and others, complying with the Health and Safety at Work Act. • To produce components to the company standard in the most efficient / cost effective manner. • To be familiar with all systems and procedures of their job. • Ensure that information is transferred between shifts and team members as required. • If problems occur ensure the relevant people are kept informed e.g. Team Leader, Shift Leader, Production Engineer, Scheduler & Maintenance. • Help train other team members to carry out tasks in the correct manner. • Be committed to continuous improvement and suggest improvements regarding methods, processes and tooling. • To highlight problems as soon as they occur to the Team Leader / Shift leader. • Keep working area clean and tidy. • Work within departmental / company procedures. • In addition to the above, fulfil any other reasonable requirement consistent with departmental objectives. Skills, Qualifications & Attributes:. • Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of: Work-holding methods Tool selection criteria Cutting tool parameters Manual machining techniques Setting and operating a range of CNC machine tools Shop floor computer systems Quality principles. Inspection techniques. Main objective: • An essential requirement is to interpret and read technical data/drawings. • Demonstrate confidence in setting, operating and programming CNC machines. • Participate in the involvement of the machining of high precision components in the relevant Motorsport / Aerospace industries. Key responsibilities, skills and experience: • Demonstrate proven experience on working on 4/5 axis CNC milling machines. • Essential to have milling experience with Fanuc controls. • It is necessary have Aerospace or Motorsport experience within a high precision manufacturing/production environment. Working conditions: • You will be working on a double day shift. The hours 06:00 - 14:00 Monday - Friday one week and then 14:00 - 22:00 Monday - Friday the week after. • Competitive salary plus shift allowance.
