Job Description:
The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, updating, and implementing CNC programs for all new and existing customer part programs. Reporting to the Engineering department, the CNC Programmer analyzes simple to complex customer blueprints to design and develop processes to produce a quality parts that adhere to customer specification and profitability guidelines.
Key responsibilities include determining the resources required to produce the part to customer specifications, developing programs using CAD-CAM for 2, 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC Machines (such as lathes, horizontal and vertical mills) to machine metals to precise dimension, performing diagnostic prove-outs with CAM verification software and CNC machines to ensure program is effective and sustainable, and providing training and technical support to operators to support production.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications: - Minimum of 2 years metal machining experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience programming 2-5 axis CNC machines (lathes and mills) with Unigraphics NX-4 / 6
- Formal training in CAD/CAM and CNC programming from an accredited institution or provider and/or completed courses in conventional / CNC machining
- Sound knowledge of machine tools operations, cutting tool theory and practice, and working properties of various metals used in the manufacturing process (aluminum, titanium, steel, etc)
- Experience in Vericut, Solid Edge, and/or Catia is an asset
- Proficient in the use of MS Office products (Word, and Excel)
- Ability to be effective working independently and as a part of a team
- Strong attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, and meet time-based deliverables
- Ability to communicate fluently in English (reading, writing, speaking)
Please note: This position supports production, and as such, evening and weekend availability is required.
