Job Description:
Savaria Concord Lifts designs, manufactures
and distributes top-of-the-line accessibility products, including residential
and commercial elevators, stair lifts, wheelchair lifts, incline and vertical
platform lifts, automatic door openers and a selection of ADA compliant products. Our equipment is certified to
meet or exceed all applicable Elevator and Lift codes in North America.
Summary:
Meets the procurement needs of assigned commodities and/or services including theirresources, availability, price, quality and transportation needs. Develops monitors and improves supplierrelationships to evaluate partnering benefits by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Executes projects under the direction of the Purchasing Manager and R&D engineers to source potential new projects
- Analyzes the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed.
- Solicits and evaluates proposals for the requested commodity
- Investigates and/or interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
- Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
Assures that the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company
- Works with Materials Manager to reduce lead times, inventory levels, order accuracy, etc.
- Organizes weekly work order from MRP and consigns to respective departments
Develops contingency alternatives for all assigned major commodities
- Monitors and ensures adherence to purchase order due dates and expedites product to prevent stock outs
- Actively works towards supply base consolidation
- Monitors supplier performance reporting and implements improvement plans as necessary
- Updates item master information on a daily basis
- Oversees inventory control procedures and participates in quarterly inventory counts
- Investigates BOM errors, reports any corrections needed for Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s)
- Works with vendor/supplier for non-conforming materials and requests for Return Material Authorization (RMA)
- Coordinates MRO purchases for machines for Production and facility maintenance.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Plans and releases sales orders and informs Master Scheduler of any issues regarding
- lead times, inventory levels, order accuracy etc.

Job Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's
degree (B. A.) 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
To perform
this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word and Excel,
knowledge of MRP or ERP systems (Baan, Manmanx or MK a benefit)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Enrollment in C.P.P.
and/or working towards SCMP (PMAC)
Other Skills and Abilities:
Excellent
negotiation skills, superior communication skills (verbal and written)
