Job Description:

 

Owned by Siemens, Roke is an innovative engineering solutions provider and contract R&D specialist. It pioneers developments in electronic sensors, information processing, networks and communications technology, providing research, products and consultancy to Government departments, Siemens businesses and commercial customers. Roke are currently recruiting for a CNC programmer and Machinist. This role sits within Production Services to manufacture mechanical components in support of projects in a prototyping environment. This position reports to the Model Shop Supervisor/Team Leader.

 

 

Working Partners/Contacts

 Line Manager, Team Leader, Mechanical Design Team, Project Managers, Engineers.

 

 

 

Full responsibility for:

 

 

    * Producing mechanical hardware to a high standard utilising standard workshop machinery

 

    * To take responsibility for each job including planning to ensure delivery against agreed dates

 

    * To work from standard mechanical drawings or sketches

 

    * To provide manufacturing advice to Project Managers, Engineers and to the Mechanical Design    group

 

    * To be responsible for personal safety and for maintaining a clean and

 

      tidy workplace

 

Job Requirements:

 

Knowledge/Languages

 

 

    * Time served fully skilled toolmaker

 

    * Knowledge and use of AlphaCAM or DelCAM desirable technologies

 

    * Proficiency in CNC programming

 

    * Proficient use of lathes milling machines etc

 

    * Awareness of Health and Safety legislation applicable to this

 

      environment

 

    * Ability to problem solve
